What is Stepping Out for Stroke?
More than a walk, it is an invitation.
Stepping Out For Stroke (SOFS) is the Singapore National Stroke Association's flagship annual walkathon, dedicated to raising awareness of stroke and celebrating the resilience of stroke survivors and their caregivers.
As part of SNSA's 30th Anniversary, this year's event goes beyond the walk. Participants will embark on a specially curated Stroke Experience Journey at Gardens by the Bay, bringing together survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, community partners and the public in a shared journey of recovery, resilience and community support.
Whether you are a survivor taking your first steps towards recovery, a caregiver walking alongside a loved one, or a member of the public showing your support, every step helps strengthen a more inclusive and supportive stroke community.
Survivors, caregivers and the community — together at last year's walk.
Your Stroke Experience Journey
Five steps, one shared journey.
From the first step of the walk to a symbolic close at the Flower Dome, the journey is designed to tell the story of stroke, from prevention and awareness to hope, recovery and reintegration.
Move
Community Walk
Begin the journey by walking alongside stroke survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals and members of the community in support of stroke awareness, recovery and reintegration. Participants may choose between the 3KM Community Walk or the 1KM route, specially designed for stroke survivors and caregivers.
Learn
Stroke Experience Pavilion
Explore educational exhibits and interactive experiences that deepen understanding of stroke prevention, recovery and rehabilitation. The pavilion offers greater insight into life after stroke and the support available throughout the journey of hope, recovery and reintegration.
Reflect
Survivor Art Exhibition
Discover inspiring artworks created by stroke survivors, each reflecting personal stories of resilience, creativity and hope. The exhibition celebrates recovery beyond words and highlights how strength, identity and expression continue after stroke.
Connect
Community Support Zone
Connect with healthcare providers, community organisations and support services available to stroke survivors and caregivers. Learn more about the resources, programmes and support networks that help individuals and families continue their journey of recovery and reintegration.
Hope
Flower Dome Journey
Conclude the experience with a symbolic visit to the Flower Dome, representing hope, recovery and reintegration into the community. It serves as a reminder that every recovery journey is unique, and that hope continues to grow with every step forward.
